Why Do You Need to Change the Filters?

Your water filter working constantly to eliminate contaminants out of your water. Think of your filter cartridge as a sponge that collects potential contaminants in your drinking water. If you do not replace it on time, pollutants such as bacteria, pesticides, lead, fluoride, and many others, can build up inside the filter. As the filters clog, it becomes harder for the water to pass through the system.

If you don’t change the filters in your water treatment systems, you’ll be using filters that no longer treat the contaminants that may exist in your water; instead, the filters become hosts for bacteria and other microorganisms that can be dangerous and harmful to your health.

When Should You Replace the Filters?

In general, the filter cartridges on your water filter should be replaced every 6-12 months depending on the quality of water in your area. The RO membrane should be replaced every 12-24 months.

If your water takes on an unpleasant taste, or if you detect an odour in the water, it’s most likely time to replace your water filter. Also, you might notice a gradual decrease in water pressure, which could indicate the need for a new filter.
